HYDERABAD: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) arrested Kailash Chand Mangla, a promoter of Sukruti Foods, in connection with the adulteration of ghee supplied for making the Tirupati temple's Ladoo prasadam. The arrest was made on charges of money laundering related to the case involving Sukruti Foods. An earlier investigation revealed that the firm supplied ghee adulterated with palm oil to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams, labelling it as 'Agmark Special Grade Cow Ghee'.

ED took Kailash Chand Mangla into custody from Hyderabad. They later brought him to Visakhapatnam and produced him before the court. Mangla had manufactured and distributed spurious ghee worth Rs 96 crore.

The ED also found that he had set up the necessary facilities for this at his factory. The ED had previously arrested the director of Bhole Baba Organic Dairy Milk in connection with the distribution of the spurious ghee.
