Robin Varghese, the son of the late actor and comedian Machan Varghese, shared how Dileep and other actors assisted his father with his medical bills. In an interview, Robin revealed that Machan Varghese received financial aid for his significant medical expenses from the actors' association (AMMA) as well as from his colleagues, including Dileep.

"My father’s treatment costs amounted to Rs 12 lakh. This amount was covered with the help of the actors' association and contributions from fellow actors. At one point, we had to pay an urgent hospital bill of Rs 2.5 lakh. It was actor Dileep who stepped in to cover the expense unexpectedly. I'll never forget Dileep’s timely help. Mammookka had also helped us," Robin said.

Machan Varghese passed away in 2011 at the age of 50 due to cancer. He was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Kozhikode. Initially admitted due to a urinary tract-related illness, he was later diagnosed with cancer.

Machan Varghese was widely recognized for his roles in films like Punjabi House, Thenkasipattanam, Meesa Madhavan, and CID Moosa. With his unique voice and comedic timing, Machan Varghese made a significant impact on Malayalam cinema. He was particularly active in films directed by Siddique-Lal and Rafi-Mecartin. Throughout his career, he played humorous roles in over 50 films.
