Posed as ED official and embezzled crores; ASI from Kodungallur taken into custody

THRISSUR: An ASI from Kodungallur has been taken into custody by Karnataka Police for embezzling crores of money by posing as an Enforcement Directorate (ED) official. The arrested officer is ASI Shafeer Babu.

According to preliminary information from Karnataka Police, Shafeer Babu, along with three friends, allegedly posed as ED officials and defrauded a Karnataka political leader of Rs 4 crore.

Shafeer Babu has been taken to Karnataka for further investigation. Karnataka Police arrived in Kodungallur and took him into custody after informing senior police officials.
