PALAKKAD: A 25-year-old woman has been arrested from Vadakkencherry in connection with the seizure of 154.27 grams of MDMA. Rinsha Mohammed Rafi (25) of Pattani Street in Palakkad, was arrested by the police for trying to smuggle MDMA from Bengaluru to Kerala. Reports say Rinsha helped Aroodas in the sale of MDMA in Kerala.

The MDMA was seized on August 9 from Vadakkencherry. Acting on a confidential tip-off that a large quantity of MDMA was being transported from Bengaluru to Kunnamkulam for sale, a police team led by DANSAF sub-inspector T C Anuraj conducted an inspection that resulted in the seizure. Sharat Mon (37) of Chittanjur in Kunnamkulam was arrested in the case earlier.

During interrogation, Sharat told investigators that Aroodas brought the MDMA from Bengaluru. This led police to Rinsha, who was subsequently traced and arrested during an investigation carried out by the Vadakkencherry police team in Bengaluru. She was brought to Kerala, produced before a court, and remanded to judicial custody.

The investigation was conducted as per the directions of Thrissur City Police Commissioner Nakul R Deshmukh and under the leadership of Kunnamkulam ACP Saju Abraham. The investigation team included Vadakkencherry police inspector Anoop, sub-inspector Nibin, senior civil police officer Sanal, civil police officer Arjun, and woman civil police officer Shabna.
