NILAMBUR: PV Anvar has alleged that Public Works Minister PA Mohammed Riyas had taken money from contractors in the name of Nava Kerala Sadas. Anvar claimed that he has audio and video evidence of Riyas and his personal staff demanding money from contractors.
He alleged that a coordinated character assassination campaign was being orchestrated against him and issued a stern warning to those involved.
“Be it VD Satheesan, Mohammed Riyas, or Aryadan Shoukath — if they continue this campaign, they will have to flee Nilambur with their faces covered. This is not just a statement but a warning. If the attacks go beyond a limit, I will be forced to defend myself. Funds for the Nava Kerala Sadas were raised through collections. I ended up with a debt of Rs 50 lakhs. The mandalam committees were tasked with collecting money. Minister Mohammed Riyas collected money directly from contractors and that too forcefully. If they try to destroy my character, I will retaliate in the same manner. I will release the evidence," Anvar said.
Anvar also emphasized that there is a tough fight going on in Nilambur. He asserted that he stands with the people and that the people's support is his true strength. "I will defeat both major fronts in the election. It’s difficult to predict the majority at this point. It’s not yet clear who among my opponents will be most affected by my candidacy. Voters from both alliances are with me," Anvar said.
He also stated that he would respond appropriately to the Chief Minister who referred to him as a "cheater." "The people will defeat the real cheaters. This time, the contest will benefit the people," Anvar added.
