KOCHI: Director and former BJP vice president Major Ravi has revealed that three sitting MLAs in Kerala had approached him expressing their willingness to cooperate with the BJP. He said that the move did not go forward as the party leadership did not give approval. "They are still ready to cooperate with the BJP. They told me they are ready to come without any conditions. They are not happy in their own party," Major Ravi said.

Major Ravi also demanded that the BJP should be ready to bring Shashi Tharoor to the party. "Shashi Tharoor is an intellectual with global exposure. He has held top positions at the United Nations and has an understanding of how to take the country forward. He is quite popular among the people. However, in Kerala, the BJP keeps fielding the same faces in elections. Both the Assembly and Lok Sabha elections have different characters. To change that, the party needs popular personalities. That's why I suggested Shashi Tharoor's name," he said.

“I had served as the BJP state vice president. However, I am not very active now since I believe there are others more capable. I had already conveyed this to Rajeev Chandrasekhar. Not getting a position of power will not make me leave the party or join another," he added.
