Again mass prayer in mosque, despite lockdown: 11 arrested

THIRUVANANTHAPURA: Police on Saturday arrested 11 persons for violating lockdown protocol and performing mass namaz in Thiruvannathapuram.

The arrested were persons who conducted mass prayers at Chittoor Jamaath mosque at Peringamala under the jurisdiction of Palode police station.

The arrested persons included Jammth Committee president and secretary. The mass prayer was conducted at 6:45 pm on Friday.

Other persons arrested were Peringama Thennoor natives Basheer (55), Shameem (39), Rasheed ( 63 ) , Abdul Rouf (23), Muhammad Riyaz (24), Shajahan (42), Nassim (39) Buhari (39), Sajeer (27), Moosakunju (65) and Nizar Muhammad Sulfi (48).
They were later released on bail.

In Thrissur Chavakkad also, there were arrests for performing namaz unlawfully.
