THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Anand Kaushik (36), a Veena artiste and son of famous Veena maestro Ananthapadmanabhan passed away here on Sunday. He was suffering from Marfan syndrome, a disorder that affects connective tissue, and he breathed his last on Sunday around 4 am. After feeling physical discomfort he was first admitted in a private hospital in Karamana and later in Sree Chithra.
A native of Thrissur, Anand is settled in Pappanamcode in Thiruvananthapuram. His last rites was performed at Karamana Gramajana cemetery here on Sunday evening.
Anand is survived by wife Subbalakshmi Hari, and daughter Anandasree.
Anand was a regular presence in concerts at Tirupati, Guruvayur, and Thiruvambadi temples. He has performed overseas including America. After learning Veena from Ananthapadmanabhan, Kaushik became renowned at a young age. He performed with his father at many concerts and made several musical albums.
Anand was working as Software Architech in UST Global in Technopark. He used to take Veena classes even between his work shifts.
