THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Cardinal Mar Baselios Cleemis of the Syro-Malankara Catholic Church said that care should be taken not to make hurtful remarks to other communities. Cleemis made this clear at a press conference held after a meeting of various religious heads in Thiruvananthapuram. Rejecting the remark made by Pala Bishop, Mar Cleemis said that religious harmony should be maintained.

He also did not support the articles published in Deepika. He said the Catholic Church had not made such a decision and that the organizations may have taken a stand. "Platforms like this are needed to hold discussions. The Archbishop of Changanassery expressed inconvenience in attending the meeting. I do not know what the inconvenience is. The meeting was not held by informing the government. The proposal to call an all-party meeting is welcome," Mar Cleemis said.
