Landslide in Pathanamthitta and Kottayam; houses damaged

KOTTAYAM: There were landslides in Pathanamthitta and Kottayam districts. There was a landslide at two places in Kottayam and Kanamala in Erumeli. There was a landslide in Keerithode-Parakadavu sector early this morning. Two houses were damaged in the landslide that occurred in Ezhuthwapuzha. The houses of Pananthottam Jose and Thenni Plakkal Jobin have been damaged.

Two autos washed away. Nine families have been evacuated. There was a mudslide in Ezhuthwapuzha-Kanamala bypass road. No casualty has been reported. One person has been rescued from the landslide. Traffic was disrupted on Kanamala, Erathwapuzha and Idakadathi roads.

There are reports of a landslide in Kokkathodu part in Pathanamthitta. One house has been damaged. Four houses are under water. Water level rose in Konni Achenkovil River.

Heavy rains lashed Aryankavu and Edapalayam in Kollam last night. Water has entered some houses and shops. The Adivasi colony in Villumala has been isolated.
