55-year-old man comes home alive hours after his body was buried; relatives and locals in shock

CHENNAI: A 55-year-old man, who was thought to be dead and was buried by relatives, returned home alive. The incident took place on Sunday at Banagaladpur near Erode. The body was buried on Sunday. However, the man, who was presumed to be dead, returned home alive on Monday evening.

Moorthy, a daily wage worker, had gone to Tirupur a few days back for sugarcane harvest. Afterwards, his relatives did not receive any information about him. On Sunday morning, a relative informed the family that Moorthy was found dead at a nearby bus stop. Moorthy’s son Karthi, soon rushed to the spot and identified the body. The Sathyamangalam police registered a case and handed over the body to the family. All the final rights were performed and the body was buried by Sunday night. However, Moorthy unexpectedly returned home, the next day. “We couldn’t believe our eyes when he entered the house and we are still in shock”, said his family. The Sathyamangalam police have started an inquiry to trace the real identity of the dead person.
