THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala Chief Secretary Dr VP Joy's recent visit to Gujarat to learn about the CM's Dashboard system had sparked a political row in the state. However, the dashboard system of Gujarat CM Bhupendrabhai Patel is a great system to follow for Kerala, which has big dreams regarding e-governance.
Services, administrations and projects are all organized on a single computer screen in front of the Chief Minister. The Kerala Chief Secretary had gone directly to study the system, which is the first of its kind in the world and not just in India.
It can be said that the dashboard is a real-time measurement system of governance. The dashboard, which compiles around 450 criteria, displays 3400 results from around 20 departments in Gujarat. The daily progress of 2206 projects can be seen. The CM can also see the 740 online services provided to the public. The CM will come across the complaints sent by people through WhatsApp, Facebook or SMS. If people complain about malfunctions in the implementation of a project, the CM can instruct those concerned through the dashboard itself to rectify it. In addition, there are 183 e-governance applications in various departments on the dashboard.
The Chief Minister does not have to ask the Secretary to know how many Gujaratis are in the AYUSHMAN BHARAT scheme. All he has to do is touch the dashboard. Answer: 26 lakhs. Target: 43 lakhs. Kerala Chief Secretary VP Joey witnessed this in person.
Chief Secretary VP Joy, who went to Gujarat to study the dashboard system, returned yesterday. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will hold a detailed discussion with the Chief Secretary on the possibility of implementing the dashboard system in Kerala after returning from the US. The Chief Secretary declined to comment further.
