THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The police have come forward demanding the cancellation of the bail of P C George, who had recently made a hate speech. An appeal seeking the cancellation of his bail will be submitted on Tuesday at the Thiruvananthapuram district sessions court.
Further action will be taken after seeking legal advice. The plea will state that the bail was granted without hearing the government’s arguments.
P C George had made the controversial remarks while addressing the audience at the Hindu Maha Sammelan on April 29. The video of the speech was widely circulated on social media, following which several political organizations had released protest notes. A complaint was also lodged with the police.
The police had arrested George from his residence and was produced before Vanchiyoor judicial first class magistrate Asha Koshi, at her official residence. P C George was granted bail on conditions.
