Engine gets detached from train and ran for over one kilometre; a major accident averted

VISAKHAPATNAM: The engine of an express train detached from its bogies while running. The incident took place on the Visakhapatnam-Nizamuddin Samata Superfast Express (12807) while running through Gutchimi village in Sitanagaram mnadal in Parvatipuram district of Andhra Pradesh on Wednesday morning. The passengers on the train which ran for more than a kilometer with only bogies, became very panicked.

The train resumed its journey after the coaches stopped and the railway authorities attached the same engine. Railway officials said no one was injured in the incident. Railway has launched an investigation into the incident.
