Today marks 150th birth anniversary of Kumaran Asan

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate the 150th birth anniversary of Mahakavi Kumaran Asan and the 111th anniversary of Kerala Kaumudi today at 6 pm at AKG Hall. SNDP Yogam general secretary Vellappally Natesan will preside over the function.

The Chief Minister will release the cover of the book published by Kerala Kaumudi about Kumaran Asan by presenting it to Vellappally Natesan. The CM will also release a documentary about Kumaran Asan written by Manju Vellayani and directed by S Mahesh.

Kerala Kaumudi chief editor Deepu Ravi will deliver the keynote address. Ministers KN Balagopal, V Sivankutty, GR Anil, Veena George, opposition leader VD Satheesan, VK Prasanth MLA, mayor Arya Rajendran, Kerala Kaumudi deputy editor AC Reji, Thiruvananthapuram-Alappuzha unit chief S Vikraman, New Rajasthan Marbles MD C Vishnubhakthan will also attend the function.
