THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The probe into the AKG centre bomb attack case has been handed over to the Crime Branch. The case was handed over to the crime branch as the police continues to grope in the dark regarding the case even after 23 days after the incident. The DGP issued an order in this regard today.

The attack on the AKG Centre took place on June 30. Police said the explosive substance was hurled at the AKG centre by a motorbike-borne man at around 11.30 pm. Although the CCTV footage of the incident was obtained immediately, police were unable to trace the accused. So far, the police have checked around 50 CCTV footage and around 1000 phone records.

At the same time, the preliminary conclusion of the forensic experts is that materials such as firecrackers, which do not have high explosive potential, were used for the attack.
