KOTTAYAM: After three people died due to the ongoing flood in the district in three days, the Kottayam police issued a warning to the people. The police have directed that although the red alert has been withdrawn, children and adults should not go venture into water bodies for bathing or fishing in the event of heavy rains.

'Do not cross rivers, bathe or fish in rivers or other water bodies. Don't go on the flyovers to see the view or take selfies. Do not gather around on flyovers. People should stay away from walls, hill slopes and earth mounds as there is a possibility of landslides. Everyone should store helpline numbers of police and fire force in the phone,' the police said.
