Student dies after railway repair van fatally knocks her down while crossing track

KOCHI: A 21-year-old girl was fatally knocked down by a railway repair van when she was crossing the railway track at the Angamaly railway station. The victim is Anu Sajan of Angamaly Peechanikad Thelapilly. When she moved to the next track seeing a train coming from Aluva, a railway repair van from Chalakudy proceeding to Aluva knocked her down. In the impact, she fell down hitting an iron rod and sustained serious injuries.

Anu was a student of Angamaly Morning Star College. The students getting down at the municipal bus stand usually go to nearby colleges after crossing the track. Another student had died in a similar manner earlier.
