KOZHIKODE: Brother of Sajeevan, who died, said that he is not satisfied with the crime branch probe. He said the crime branch was not able to convince the court that he died following brutal harassment.

His family said action should be taken against the cops who brutally thrashed Sajeevan. Why aren’t the CCTV visuals of the station not released? His mother Janu said that she cannot accept saying the cause of death of Sajeevan, who had no health problems, was following a heart attack. Sajeevan (42) of Vadakara died on July 22nd.

Sajeevan was taken into police custody on July 21. The action was taken after the car in which Sajeevan and his friends were traveling collided with another vehicle. His friends alleged that the sub inspector thrashed Sajeevan when he confessed to the police that he was drunk. It was also alleged that the officials were not even ready to take him to the hospital after he collapsed in the station premises.

Following that the crime branch took over the investigation. The post-mortem report stated that the cause of death was heart attack. The four policemen accused in the case were granted anticipatory bail the other day.
