KOCHI: Suhail Sajeev and his friend Ninav, arrested in connection with the Nedumbassery car crash that killed three people, have been shifted to the borstal school at Kakkanad. Suhail was remanded in judicial custody for 14 days after being produced before the Aluva magistrate on Monday. He was subsequently shifted to the borstal school. Officials said both men are 19 years old and that the move was made in accordance with prison rules.
Prisons DGP S. Sreejith said the two were shifted to the borstal school within the prison premises, taking into account their age and the applicable law. He said persons aged between 18 and 21 who are arrested are housed in the borstal school rather than in regular prison cells.
