NEW DELHI: Governor Arif Mohammad Khan has levelled harsh criticisms against the Kannur vice chancellor. The vice chancellor behaves like a cadre member of the ruling party. His behaviour is not suitable for his position, opined the governor. The universities are not for appointing relatives. An inquiry will be ordered into every such case, he added.

Expressing dissatisfaction over the appointment of the vice chancellor in the Kerala University, governor said, “Don’t try to interfere into my domain. I will appoint whomsoever I think is fit”. Meantime, Kerala University is gearing up for a direct clash with the governor, alleging that the latter has unilaterally formed a search committee for the appointment of the vice chancellor. The university has not yet recommended a nominee for the search committee formulated by the governor. If the policy comes, then the governor is likely to take action against the vice chancellor.
