Learner's test along with Plus Two

kk

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state government is considering including the Learner's License Test along with the Plus Two examination. The Department of Motor Vehicles will hand over the curriculum in this regard to the Education Department on September 28. If approved by the Education Department, it will approach the central government to amend the Transport Act. Only those who are 18 years of age will be allowed to drive.

The Motor Vehicle Department came up with the new proposal in the context of increasing traffic violations and accidents among teenagers. Students will be taught traffic rules before the exam. Those who pass the test will not have to retake a learner's test when applying for a license. The curriculum was prepared under the leadership of Transport Commissioner S Sreejith. Minister Antony Raju will hand over the curriculum to Minister V Sivankutty on September 28.
