KANNUR: A case has been filed against a Yuva Morcha leader in Kannur for propagating hate speech. The case is against Yuva Morcha Kannur district secretary VK Sminthesh. The case is that the day before the Popular Front hartal, Sminthesh spread hate propaganda through social media. He has been accused of spreading a voice message in a manner that promotes religious rivalry.
"SDPI members have asked to close the shops tomorrow. Sangh Parivar workers should go to these shops and open them. We have ensured protection. Everyone from Panur and surrounding areas should arrive tomorrow. This is a matter of our pride. We have grown up in Panur after seeing even bigger havoc".
"We must prepare for an open war by accepting the challenge. Everyone should reach Panur by 6:30 tomorrow. Whatever way the terrorists come at us, we must be able to respond in kind. All patriots are invited to Panur. No one should sit at home thinking it is hartal. We don't have hartal tomorrow'- Sminthesh said in the voice message.
Meanwhile, the popular front's hartal in the state last day turned violent in many places. Several KSRTC buses were damaged by stone pelting during the hartal. Officials said that 70 KSRTC buses were also damaged in various places. Policemen and KSRTC drivers were injured. Private vehicles were also attacked. 157 cases of violence related to hartal were registered in the state on Friday. In a press release, the police informed that 368 people have been detained.
