THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The police has come up with the 'Say Hello to Your Neighbour' project to make those who live next to each other in flats in the city become close. The aim is to ensure mutual friendship and strengthen public safety by establishing better relations with neighbours. A social media campaign has been started in this regard.

Such a project was started on the assessment that it is not safe to live alone in the flats without knowing who the neighbours are. It can also ensure the safety of senior citizens and children living alone.

The goal is to encourage friendships through home visits and children's parks in apartments, adults travelling together to the workplace. Police sources indicated that the scheme has been successfully implemented in Kochi city for several months.
