THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Thiruvananthapuram Corporation has said that there is no need for the ombudsman to conduct an investigation on the letter row. The corporation clarified this in its reply letter to the ombudsman. According to the corporation, the High Court is considering the letter controversy. The letter given by Corporation Secretary stated that the ombudsman should not investigate as the police are also investigating the matter.

The ombudsman issued a notice to the corporation on a complaint filed by Youth Congress district president Sudheer Shah Palode. The crime branch had decided to file a case based on Mayor Arya Rajendran's statement after she gave a statement during the preliminary investigation that the recommendation letter was fake. The crime branch will record Mayor's statement in the case tomorrow. They will later question the employees. During the preliminary investigation, the crime branch had stated that they did not find the original letter in the matter and only came across a WhatsApp copy.
