TRIVANDRUM: In wake of the sudden spike in COVID cases, the old set of COVID rules will be reinstated in the state, informed the government. Mask is made mandatory in public places or while engaging with crowds. The government has issued a circular stating these things. In Kerala, the situation warrants concern, but until now, no new variant has been found. Considering all this, the government is least ready for risks and has made masks mandatory even while driving and in traffic lights. Theatres and other public avenues that always see crowds should uphold the government-issued circular. A sanitizer or soap should be made permanent in these places. The government has reiterated to the public that COVID is still lurking in some corners and will pounce back if acted amateurish.
