Flight from Sharjah to Kozhikode returns to airport after take off due to technical glitch

SHARJAH: An Air India flight from Sharjah to Kozhikode landed back at Sharjah airport after an hour of departure. The reason is a technical fault. Passengers of the AI 998 flight was transferred from the aircraft to the airport terminal.

About 170 passengers were on board. Kozhikode airport is undergoing runway maintenance, so the journey can be resumed only after this afternoon. The authorities have instructed passengers with resident visas to return home from the airport. Women and children on visitor visas were stranded at the airport. There is also a dead body on the plane that needs to be brought home.
