Greenfield ODI: Cricket fans turn up in huge numbers, all tickets sold out

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: All tickets for the first ODI between India and the West Indies, scheduled to be held at the Greenfield International Stadium in Kariavattom on September 27, have been sold out. The first ticket was handed over by MLA Chandy Oommen to Sajjad Sait, managing director of Finesse Group and owner of Kerala Cricket League (KCL) champions Thrissur Titans, at a function held at Hyatt Regency.

All tickets were sold out within 24 hours of the sale opening. The sale received an excellent response from fans from the very beginning, with the rush to secure tickets clearly visible during the online booking as well.

Both teams will arrive in Thiruvananthapuram on September 23. They will train at Greenfield on September 24, 25 and 26. The match will begin at 2 pm on September 27. The second ODI will be played in Guwahati on September 30, followed by the third match in Mohali on October 3.

Gallery tickets are priced at Rs 650. Pavilion tickets cost Rs 1,250, while tickets for Pavilion A and J are priced at Rs 1,800 and Rs 2,000, respectively. Elite Pavilion tickets cost Rs 2,500, while KCA Box hospitality tickets are priced at Rs 5,000. All ticket prices include applicable taxes. Tickets are mandatory for children above three years of age.

This will be the third men’s ODI to be held at the Greenfield International Stadium. India and the West Indies also played the first international ODI at the stadium on November 1, 2018. The West Indies team is returning to the capital after eight years. The second ODI at the venue was played between India and Sri Lanka in January 2023. India scored 390 runs, powered by Virat Kohli’s unbeaten 166, before bowling Sri Lanka out for 73 to register a 317-run victory.
