CALIFORNIA: For the first time after executing the dastardly twin murders in California, Anila Baby, the 33-year-old Malayali residing in the United States, appeared in the Santa Clara County court. Baby murdered her best friends in a gap of just 90 minutes. As per reports, she faces two counts of first-degree murder and 50 years’ jail term.
Deputy District Attorney Marisa McKeown said the prosecutors believe that the murders were deliberate and premeditated.
On August 28th, Ann Mary, a native of Thiruvananthapuram, was stabbed inside her apartment in San Jose by Anila. Investigators found that the victim was stabbed and strangled. Moreover, the CCTV footage was found to be deleted. However, the crucial turning point became the visuals of the Baby's sandals found in front of the apartment.
90 minutes after the first murder, Baby, in her Toyota SUV, ran over Kottayam native Anjana, near Milpitas. As per reports, Anjana was seen smiling when she approached Baby in the car, but the accused pedalled the accelerator and hit her best friend. Anjana died on the spot after suffering a serious head injury.
Anila Baby was later caught by the police in a parking lot, and bloodstains were found on her clothes at that time.
