No more AI, Super Intelligence is enough; Trump with new change

WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump has said that artificial intelligence (AI) should not be subjected to excessive regulation. Pointing out that regulations could hinder America's technological progress, Trump also called for strong self-regulation by companies.

Trump announced that he had signed a 'Morally Binding Agreement' for self-regulation in the AI sector. His remarks came after meeting with prominent tech executives at an AI summit held at the White House. Tech leaders, including Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, Sundar Pichai, Satya Nadella, Jensen Huang, Jeff Bezos, and Sam Altman, attended the summit.

Trump signed an agreement titled 'Joint Commitment on Frontier Responsibilities' to establish safety regulations for AI technology.

‘This is, in a way, like a constitution. The biggest names in the world have signed it. I have also signed it as President. This is essentially a safeguard,’ Trump said.

Trump also signed an executive order to rename artificial intelligence as 'Super Intelligence.' The order directs all departments and agencies of the administration to use the terms 'Super Intelligence' or 'SI' in their official documents and avoid using 'Artificial Intelligence' or 'AI.'
