FLORIDA: US President Donald Trump has warned that a military attack against Iran could take place soon. He made the remarks while speaking to reporters after casting his vote in the midterm elections in Florida.
When asked whether the United States would attack Iran soon, Trump responded, ‘It could happen as soon as tomorrow. There is a possibility.’ However, he also added that there was still a chance for the two countries to reach a good peace agreement. Trump said Iran was also interested in reaching a deal, but the main question was whether it would honour the agreement.
Defending military operations in West Asia, Trump praised the US Navy and armed forces. He claimed that American forces had destroyed Iran’s warplanes and 259 ships, adding that severe inflation was now the only major problem remaining in Iran.
Meantime, Iran has rejected reports suggesting that it might reopen the Strait of Hormuz in exchange for the lifting of the US naval blockade. Tasnim News Agency, which is linked to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), and Press TV reported that the claims published by Saudi Arabian media were false. They also stated that Iran had not submitted any new proposals to Pakistani mediators.
Trump also expressed hope that the Russia–Ukraine war would end soon. He said the United States would restore trade relations with both countries after the war ended. Criticising the Democrats, Trump accused the party of widespread corruption in various cities and states.
