SAN FRANCISCO: Google's AI chatbot Gemini experienced a major outage starting around 3 PM on Wednesday, affecting users across multiple services. The disruption was reported on the web version of Gemini as well as several Google services, including Google Search, Workspace, One, and Cloud. Users attempting to access Gemini were greeted with messages displaying "Error Code 1076" or "Error Code 1099."
The outage triggered complaints from a large number of users, many of whom reported being unable to access the platform or use related services. The issue comes shortly after Google introduced Gemini Omni, a new multimodal AI model designed to handle multiple types of content and interactions. Google has acknowledged the disruption but has not yet disclosed the cause of the outage. The company said efforts are underway to resolve the issue and that affected services are expected to return to normal soon.
