NEW DELHI: Ten seafarers were killed in a Russian attack on a cargo ship in Ukraine. One of the dead is reported to be a Malayali. The victim was identified as Akhil Joyan (2), a native of A.K.G. Nagar, Vellarikund, Kasaragod.
The ship Golden Leo was attacked off the coast of Odesa, Ukraine. It is reported that there were crew members from India and Syria on board. The ship was carrying food grains. The Ukrainian Navy said that eight people were rescued. A total of 18 people were on board. Seven ships have been attacked in the Black Sea since July 20. It is believed that the attack on the ship was in response to Ukraine's attacks on Russian cities in recent days.
While the world is still responding to Russia's brutal overnight attack on Kyiv, Moscow continues its campaign of terror throughout the day.
