Music composer and singer Anirudh Ravichander’s uncle has reacted to reports about Anirudh’s alleged wedding with Kavya Maran, the owner of the IPL team Sunrisers Hyderabad. Actor Y. G. Mahendran, who is Anirudh’s uncle, spoke about the reports during a media interaction and said he had heard that the two were planning to get married.
“Anirudh is a soft boy. I heard that he is getting into a very big wedding. It will certainly happen. The girl is not an ordinary person. She has the ability to manage a big team. She has inherited her father’s business qualities. They make a great pair. Both of them should move forward together and do 'musical business',” Y. G. Mahendran said.
Rumours about Anirudh Ravichander and Kavya Maran’s relationship and wedding plans have been circulating for some time. Reports suggest that the two have been close since 2024. Kavya Maran is the daughter of Sun Group chairman Kalanithi Maran.
Kavya is a familiar face among cricket fans, often seen cheering for Sunrisers Hyderabad from the stands during IPL matches. Meanwhile, Anirudh has established himself as one of the leading music composers and singers in South Indian cinema and Bollywood. He is reportedly among the highest-paid composers in the industry.
Anirudh made his Tamil film debut with 3, directed by Aishwarya Rajinikanth. He went on to create several chart-topping soundtracks and background scores for films such as Jailer, Jersey, Jawan, and Leo, earning widespread recognition for his work.
