“I am alive": ‘Cooku With Comali’ judge Chef Damu responds to death rumours

Rumours about the death of popular chef and television personality Chef Damu have been put to rest after he personally addressed the speculation in a video message.

Chef Damu, one of the judges of Vijay TV’s popular reality cooking show ‘Cooku With Comali’, was absent from the recently aired semi-final episode of Season 7. His absence soon led to rumours claiming that he had died, prompting the chef to clarify the situation himself.
In a video shared in response to the rumours, Chef Damu said that he was doing well and urged people not to believe the reports about his death.

“A rumour has been spreading that Chef Damu of ‘Cooku With Comali’ has died a shocking death. By God’s grace, I am doing perfectly fine. Please do not believe the rumours,” he said.
Explaining why he was missing from the semi-final episode, Chef Damu said he had received an injection in his leg and was therefore unable to participate in the episode. He added that he did take part in the finale.
“I could not participate in the semi-final of ‘Cooku With Comali’ because I had an injection in my leg. I did participate in the finale,” he said.

Chef Damu also asked his followers not to give importance to unnecessary rumours and assured them that he would return soon.
“I will meet all of you again. So, please do not believe unnecessary rumours. I will be back soon. I am alive,” he said.
The latest season of ‘Cooku With Comali’, which premiered in April, features Chef Damu on the judging panel along with Madhampatty Rangaraj, Koushik Shankar and Roja Selvamani.
