CHENNAI: The highly anticipated film Jana Nayagan , starring actor-turned-politician and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay, is set to hit theaters across India on July 23. The official release date was confirmed by the production banner, KVN Productions, through a social media announcement.
"Tested by fire. Forged by time. Built for history. The tougher the battle, the louder the victory. Jananayagan from July 23," the makers shared in a promotional statement alongside the update.
The film, written and directed by H. Vinoth, cleared its censorship hurdles after prolonged delays and has been granted an 'A' certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).
According to the release schedule, Tamil Nadu theaters will not screen early morning special shows, with the first screenings in the state scheduled to begin at 9:00 AM. However, fans in neighboring states—including Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana—will be able to watch the film early, as theaters there are scheduled to host special shows starting at 5:00 AM.

The ensemble cast also includes Bobby Deol, Prakash Raj, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Nasser, Narain, Sunil, Revathi, Reba Monica John, and Nizhalgal Ravi. The soundtrack and background score for the movie have been composed by Anirudh Ravichander.
