'He forced me to sleep with other men': Actress opens up about horrific marriage to Aamir Khan's brother

MUMBAI: Actress Eva Grover, who is also familiar to Malayalam television audiences through several popular serials, is once again in the spotlight after her past marriage to Haider Ali Khan, the half-brother of Bollywood actor Aamir Khan, resurfaced on social media. Eva had married Haider Ali Khan after an 18-day romance, despite strong opposition from their families. However, the marriage soon turned abusive, and she later divorced him after enduring years of physical and mental abuse.

In an earlier interview, Eva revealed that Haider behaved respectfully during the 18 days before their wedding. But she said the abuse began just three days after their marriage. She also said that Haider was suffering from schizophrenia, though she was unaware of the seriousness of his condition at the time.

"On the third day after our wedding, he started hitting me during a private moment. I could not understand why it was happening," Eva had said.

The actress also alleged that Haider subjected her to severe emotional pressure and abusive behaviour. She claimed that he even forced her to have physical relationships with other men to earn money for household expenses and their child's needs.

"My own husband asked me to do that. He kept saying we needed money to pay the electricity bill and put me under immense pressure. That was the end of everything. I never looked back after that," Eva said.

Eva and Haider have a daughter together. However, she ended the marriage after five years, saying she could no longer endure the abuse.

Eva Grover has appeared in several popular television shows, including Kora Kagaz, Office Office, Hum Saath Aath Hain, Kumkum -Ek Pyara Sa Bandhan, Karishma Kaa Karishma, CID, Bade Achhe Lagte Hain, and Tashan-e-Ishq. Her real name is Kareena Grover. She made her acting debut with the 1995 Tamil film Kattumarakaran and later acted in several Bollywood films.
