'I suspect my mother burned it; family opposed relationship with Antony'

Actress Keerthy Suresh married Antony Thattil in 2024 after 15 long years of dating. The actress has now revealed that her family had opposed her relationship with Antony. She opened up about this during an interview.

"Antony and I started dating right after I finished the twelfth grade. While I was in college, my mother found my diary; it contained everything about my relationship with Antony. After that, I stopped keeping a diary altogether. I used to love writing, but now, I don’t even know where that diary is. I wish I could get it back, though I suspect my mother burned it.

We first met in December 2009 and began our relationship in January 2010. Since he is a Christian, I faced many issues at home; it took a long time to convince my family. He had known me even before I became an actress—we grew up together," the star shared in an interview.

Previously, in another interview, Keerthy Suresh’s remarks regarding her wedding had garnered attention.

"It was truly like a dream—though perhaps 'dream' isn't the right word, given the nightmares we had about potentially having to elope! So, I’m not even sure if it was a ‘dream’. Regardless, my heart was full that day. It was an incredibly emotional moment, as it was something we had always wished for," said Keerthy.
