Prithviraj, Kareena Kapoor as cops; ‘Daayra’ trailer out

The trailer of ‘Daayra’, the first Bollywood film to bring together Prithviraj and Kareena Kapoor Khan, has come out. Directed by Meghna Gulzar, the thriller is inspired by real-life events and is set to hit theatres on September 18.

Prithviraj and Kareena play police officers in the film. The trailer hints at a story involving rape, encounters and juvenile suspects, with a case bringing the two officers to opposite sides of the same system.

“‘Daayra’, inspired by real events, places DCP Raman Kumar and DCP Ajooni Kohli on opposite sides of the same system as they investigate the same case. As their paths cross, the film questions truth, accountability and the moral boundaries of justice. The audience will have to find their own answers to the questions raised by the film,” the makers said while sharing the trailer.

Meghna Gulzar, Sima Agarwal and Yash Keswani have jointly written the screenplay. Saurabh Goswami is the cinematographer, while Charu Shree Roy has handled the editing.
