DAMMAM: Two Malayalis were killed in a road accident on the Jubail Highway in Dammam, the eastern province of Saudi Arabia. The deceased have been identified as Sajeem (45) from Thalassery and Sreelesh Lakshman (42) from Cherukunnu, Kannur.

The accident occurred on Saturday night near Qatif Central Hospital on the Dhahran-Jubail Highway. The two were travelling from Ras Tanura to Dammam when their car was hit by a vehicle driven by a Saudi national.

The impact caused the car to lose control, overturn several times, and fall into a roadside ditch. The vehicle was completely destroyed in the crash. Although police quickly pulled both men from the wreckage, Sajeem died on the spot. Sreelesh was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital but could not be saved.

The accident came to light at around 1 a.m. after friends grew concerned when the duo failed to return home and left phone calls unanswered. Police later confirmed the fatalities to them. Sajeem was a well-established businessman running multiple ventures in Dammam, where Sreelesh worked alongside him as an employee.
