Indian citizen arrested in Saudi Arabia for selling drugs; 58 kg of 'Khat' seized

RIYADH: An Indian citizen has been arrested by security forces in Saudi Arabia for allegedly selling drugs. The accused, identified as Afwaj, was caught while selling ‘Khat’, a banned narcotic substance in the country. Security patrol forces seized 58 kilograms of the banned drug from him in Al Farsha Governorate, located in the southern Asir region of Saudi Arabia.

The accused is currently in the custody of security authorities. Officials said that the initial legal procedures have been completed and the case has been handed over to the concerned department for further investigation.

Saudi authorities warned that smuggling or selling drugs is a serious crime in the country. They urged people to immediately report any such activities to security agencies. Authorities also assured that the identity of those providing information would be kept confidential.
