BJP reshuffle: M Nagaraj replaces Javadekar as Kerala in-charge; Surendran gets Puducherry

NEW DELHI: The BJP national leadership has announced new in-charges and co-in-charges for various states and Union Territories. In Kerala, the responsibility has been shifted from Prakash Javadekar to M. Nagaraj. A Rajya Sabha member from Karnataka, Nagaraj is also an RSS leader and BJP national vice-president. BJP national secretary M. Venkatesan from Tamil Nadu has been appointed the new co-in-charge of Kerala.

BJP national secretary K. Surendran has been given charge of Puducherry, while another national secretary, Anil Antony, has been appointed in-charge of Nagaland. Anil will also serve as co-in-charge of Goa. Former Union minister George Kurian has been given charge of Lakshadweep.

RSS leader Ram Madhav has been appointed in-charge of Tamil Nadu and Uttarakhand. Uttarakhand is among the states due to go to the polls in 2027.
Smriti Irani has been given charge of Chhattisgarh and Haryana, while Vinod Tawde has been appointed in-charge of Uttar Pradesh.
Tarun Chugh has been appointed in-charge of Gujarat, while Amit Malviya has been appointed one of the co-in-charges of Maharashtra.
