Drug queen and aide arrested in Delhi; heroin, cash and gold seized

NEW DELHI: A 42-year-old woman allegedly running a drug trafficking network from Delhi to Rajasthan and her aide have been arrested, police said. The arrests were made during a raid at New Sanoth Colony in Bawana.

The accused have been identified as Parvati, known as "drug queen", and 30-year-old Vikas Kumar alias Shanu. A search conducted at Parvati's house led to the seizure of 1.204 kg of heroin, Rs 56.69 lakh in cash, 355 grams of gold and 161 grams of silver. Police also seized registration documents of four properties and two cars. The seized heroin alone is estimated to be worth more than Rs 1.5 crore, according to police. Parvati was staying in a rented house in New Sanoth Colony, Bawana, with her husband Niyas. Vikas Kumar, a native of Sant Nagar in Bawana, was also staying with them. Police said he worked as Parvath's bodyguard.

Police alleged that Parvati was using money earned through drug sales to construct a house. A Tata Harrier owned by her was also seized. Investigators suspect that the cash, gold, silver and property documents were acquired using proceeds from drug trafficking. Police said 12 drug-related cases had previously been registered against Parvati. Her name was also included in the “bad character history sheet” maintained at the Rarela Industrial Area police station, according to police.

On September 23, the Anti-Narcotics Squad of the Delhi Police’s Outer North district received information about drug distribution being carried out from New Sanoth Colony. A raid was subsequently conducted, leading to the arrest of Parvati and Vikas Kumar. Police said three people have been arrested so far in connection with the case.
