NEW DELHI: The National Students' Union of India (NSUI) is reportedly grumpy over the current developments in New Delhi. National media reports suggested that the official WhatsApp group of NSUI was renamed to 'WE THE Chhotu' for three days after students felt let down by Rahul Gandhi valorising AISA national president Neha Bora.
It is said that the NSUI office bearers met with the leader of the opposition and raised their grievances, after which the WhatsApp name was changed back to normal.
On October 12, Neha Bora emerged as a star and was among those few who walked on the front line alongside Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi. Rahul even raised Neha’s hands in unison as the march went on. NSUI leaders were in the march too but were largely ignored. AISA and NSUI are rivals in student politics.
“What are we working for exactly? Are we here just to gather crowds?” messages started appearing in WhatsApp groups of NSUI after the Congress leadership put the spotlight on Bora, allegedly belittling the efforts of NSUI. The displeasure was palpable after Bora easily shared the stage with Rahul Gandhi and walked alongside the leader of the opposition.
Meanwhile, it is reported that all qualms have been settled after NSUI leaders and others, including Kanhaiya Kumar, met with Rahul Gandhi and sorted out the issues.
