NEW DELHI: Abhijeet Dipke, founder of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), was released on conditional bail on Saturday after being detained by Delhi Police on October 16 ahead of a planned ‘Lehra Do Tiranga’ protest march at Connaught Place.
The march was organised by the CJP amid protests over alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. Dipke was detained while on his way to the protest.
A Special Executive Magistrate granted him bail subject to conditions, including maintaining peace for one year and furnishing a peace bond.
Following his detention, the CJP questioned the police over his whereabouts, alleging that the party did not know where he had been taken.
