BENGALURU: A man allegedly stabbed his friend to death following an argument over chicken pieces while the two were drinking together in Karnataka's Belagavi district. The incident took place in Mudalagi taluk. The deceased has been identified as Sitaram, a native of Pilibhit in Uttar Pradesh. The accused, Arun Kumar, has been arrested. Both men were from the same area and worked at Priya Steel Company in Mudalagi.

The two were drinking together when an argument broke out after one of them allegedly ate more pieces of chicken. The argument soon turned violent, with Arun allegedly stabbing Sitaram in the chest with a knife.

Arun then took Sitaram to the nearby Gokak Hospital. He reportedly told doctors that Sitaram had been injured after falling from a building.

However, hospital authorities became suspicious and informed the police. During questioning, Arun allegedly confessed to the crime. Sitaram later died from his injuries. Police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident.
