Genitals severed, grinder in room and green cloth; Mystery looms over death of Premanand Maharaj's disciple

LUCKNOW: Mystery surrounds the death of Deepak Lodhi, also known as Rasik Dulari Sharan, a disciple of Sant Premanand Maharaj. Deepak died after falling from the fourth floor of the ashram in Vrindavan, Uttar Pradesh, on September 25. Although the police initially investigated the incident as a suspected suicide, they are continuing to examine the circumstances leading to his death in greater detail. Investigators are thoroughly analysing the injuries found on Deepak's body as well as evidence recovered from the room; they have also discovered that he sustained severe injuries to his private parts.

Police determined that CCTV footage from the road outside the ashram clearly shows Deepak falling from the fourth floor. The incident occurred around 10:35 AM. The footage reveals that a green cloth was tied around his neck as he fell. Deepak, a native of Jabalpur, was staying at the Gurukripa Kunj Ashram in Vrindavan. Although he was admitted to the hospital with injuries, he subsequently passed away.

During the police investigation, a grinder was recovered from the room where Deepak had been staying. A forensic examination is currently underway to identify whose fingerprints are present on the device. The post-mortem report revealed injuries in approximately six areas of Deepak's body; the findings indicate fractures to the leg bones and ribs, as well as severe head trauma. Additionally, the police stated that there was a severe injury to Deepak's private parts.

Although CCTV footage captures Deepak falling from the fourth floor, the events that occurred in the room immediately beforehand remain unclear; consequently, the police are examining CCTV footage from the surrounding areas as well. The investigation intends to bring out details of the last person to be with Deepak at the ashram premises. Deepak's blood sample has been sent for forensic analysis, and the police expect the results to reveal whether any drugs, toxic substances, or other suspicious materials were involved.
