NEW DELHI: Punjab is slowly turning into a political arena to be watched after the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) traded barbs against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Thursday. Political criticism has now turned into personal attacks after AAP released a poster calling the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha 'Pappu'.
The 'Pappu' poster emerged after Rahul Gandhi called AAP leader and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann an alcoholic. The AAP also questioned why Rahul Gandhi frequently visits Thailand. This marks an open conflict between two parties within the 'INDIA' alliance.
On November 4th, at the Congress party's 'Insaaf Rally' held in Sangrur, Rahul Gandhi levelled allegations against the AAP and Bhagwant Mann. Rahul Gandhi claimed that even as early as 11:00 AM—while in Parliament—Bhagwant Mann would smell of alcohol. In response to this, the AAP shared a poster featuring Rahul Gandhi and invited the public to share amusing 'Pappu' quotes.
