Women ready for customers, free access for minors; When female police officer entered famous pub in disguise

HYDERABAD: A female police officer single-handedly led a covert operation to bust a prostitution ring operating in a prominent pub in Hyderabad. DCP Riti Raj, Cyberabad, brought to light the immoral activities and violations in the pub through a lightning inspection.

The incident took place on Sunday morning. A team led by DCP Riti Raj, a 2018 batch Telangana cadre officer, conducted a lightning raid on the Kings and Queens pub, also known as 'Club Masti'. Riti Raj and her team arrived at the pub in disguise based on a tip-off received that suspicious activities were taking place inside the pub. The police arrested nine people, including four women and five men, in the raid.

According to the police, the pub was promoting prostitution and immoral activities. The investigation also found that the management failed to implement security measures to prevent minors from entering the premises where alcohol was served.

The police said that they have found evidence that women were being abused here to attract men and extort money. It was found that the management was complicit in providing women to the customers. A case was registered in the incident under the Indian Penal Code and the Prevention of Unethical Activities Act. The incident was brought to light due to the strategic intervention of Riti Raj.

Riti Raj, who graduated in law from the prestigious National Law University of Delhi, joined the Indian Police Service in 2018 after passing the civil services examination. She took charge as the DCP of Kukatpally after serving in key posts, including in the cybercrime wing and the Madhapur zone of Cyberabad.

Riti Raj is also heading the Special Investigation Team looking into the case related to Bandi Bhageerath Sai, son of Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar.
