Man breaks neighbour’s leg for trying to abuse minor daughter, police first register case against father

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A man broke his neighbour’s leg for trying to sexually abuse his 13-year-old daughter. The incident happened at Pothencode in Thiruvananthapuram. The accused injured in the attack is undergoing treatment in the medical college hospital.

The incident happened Monday evening at 3 pm. The 40-year-old neighbor called the girl home when no one was at home and tried to sexually abuse her when her father arrived there. The accused broke his leg when the man hit him with the piece of wood he had in his hand.

However, the accused filed a complaint alleging previous enmity as the reason for the attack. The police arrested him, produced him in the court and remanded him. The police later came to know that the accused was attacked when he tried to sexually abuse the girl.

The police later recorded the girl’s statement and after a medical examination registered a POCSO case against him. His arrest will be recorded soon.
